There’s nothing wrong with a good c(l)ock.
Every year Amsterdam is host of the Canal Parade, which is part of the Gay Pride. It’s one of the most known events in Amsterdam and thousands of people celebrate freedom at this day.
A certain theme is discussed at every Gay Pride, the year 2017 was all about ‘This is my Pride’ – inspired by Shirley Bassey’s ‘This is my life’. Amsterdam wanted to go ‘back to basics’ and took a look at how far we’ve come and how far we still have to go. The LGBTQIA-community was celebrated – as usual – but there was also more attention to personal struggle and daily problems a LGBTQIA-member has to face.
We wanted to make a statement around this Gay Pride as well. LEFF amsterdam is all about expressing who you want to be; no matter what race, gender or sexual preference. Always in for a good pun, we decided we’d hang up a gigantic flag with the statement “There’s nothing wrong with a good c(l)ock” – to show our support towards the LGBTQIA-community.
Again, with this statement we hope to show that it’s okay to be who you are and love who you want. We believe the future is an undivided one, where freedom is celebrated.
